MEET OUR COACHES!

 

Carolyn Rapson

Carolyn Rapson is an ex-Regional Stream gymnast from Corydon. She has over 20 years experience coaching at Corydon in the kindergym, recreational, pre-competitive, Regional Stream and Provincial Stream levels, coaching athletes age 3 through 17 years of age.

Carolyn is fully NCCP level 2 certified and level 2 trained on Trampoline. She has up to date first aid and CPR certification. Carolyn has successfully completed the Respect In Sport online course and has graduated from Business Administration through Red River College. Carolyn is currently attending the University of Manitoba, working towards a second degree.

 

 

 

Amber Blunderfield

Amber has been coaching gymnastics since 2013 and has worked with athletes’ ages 2 to 13, she also has experience participating in and coaching cheerleading teams. Amber is one of our energetic Kindergym and recreational coaches. She also works with our Level 1 and 2 competitive classes. Amber has successfully completed her Respect in Sport online course and is currently working on becoming fully certified in Gymnastics Foundations through the NCCP. She is currently enrolled in the education program at the University of Manitoba.

 

 

 

 

 

Ava Phillips

Ava is a regional stream gymnast at Corydon Gymnastics. She started as a junior coach in 2019. Ava has completed her Gymnastics Foundation training course and is now working on becoming certified. She is also trained in level one trampoline and has completed her Respect in Sport online course. Ava has experience coaching kinder gym, recreational, and level two competitive.

 

 

 

 

Hazel Latimer

Hazel is a regional stream gymnast here at Corydon and started as a junior coach in 2020. Hazel has completed her Gymnastics Foundation training course and is now working on becoming certified. She is also trained in level one trampoline and has completed her Respect in Sport online course. She has experience coaching kindergym and recreational classes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Junior Coaches

You will see a number of Jr. coaches wearing blue shirts during all of the recreational classes at Crescentwood and also with the level 1 competitive group. These are current or past athletes of Corydon gymnastics who volunteer their time every Saturday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday to come help us run our gymnastics program. We hope that they continue on to become gymnastics coaches or are able to learn new life skills and independence which they will continue to use outside of the gym. The jr. coaches at Corydon are an integral part of our gymnastics program and we appreciate all the time they put in to help make our program a success!
