Beginner Yoga

BEGINNER YOGA

This is a class designed for those new to yoga and with some experience. Learn to explore the practice of the traditional Sun Salutations and yoga asanas (positions) that work to open up tight muscles leaving you more comfortable living day to day. Develop strength and increase flexibility, while decreasing stress, improving your posture and core. This class is a great place to start and welcomes all levels to the basics of yoga practice. Wear comfy clothes, bring your own mat, water bottle and an open mind! Speak with your instructor about what propping might best assist you along the way, but none is required for this class.

INSTRUCTOR PROFILE

Bryanna Spina

Bryanna has been practicing yoga since she was a child and began teaching yoga in 2004. While her own family began growing in number, Bryanna found balance sharing play-based yoga with her kids at home and then offering it at daycare and soon after, their classrooms at school. These experiences brought such joy to Bryanna, to all the children and the caregivers, it fueled a desire to learn more! This began her journey to become a Children’s, Family and Community Yoga Teacher.

Certified through Source Yoga Studio (200 Hr Foundational Yoga Teacher
Training) and Rainbow Kids Yoga (Children and Family Yoga Training), Bryanna founded her own yoga business, Prairie Roots Yoga, a mobile yoga company, serving all ages and abilities.

Bryanna continues to teach out of schools, daycares, studios, at corporate events and community centres. She is co-author to the Intro to Kids Yoga Actions Teacher Training, which is a workshop focussed on bringing yoga and mindfulness into the classroom. Bryanna also partners annually with other Winnipeg yoga teachers and at wellness events to provide training and workshops around play-based yoga.

She is excited to be teaching at Corydon Community Centre and plans to offer an alignment based style for the beginner yoga classes.
