House League Soccer (Age 3-8)

House League soccer is based on fun and full participation by all players. It is designed to introduce young children to the basics of soccer, to the joys of team play and provides the opportunity to meet new people in the community.

Parent volunteers are a vital part of house league soccer. Please consider volunteering to coach your child’s team! You can find the coaching information at the bottom of the page

The parents are to be actively involved with their children at every game/practice in the 3-6 year old category. The season starts in early May (weather dependent) and goes until the end of June.

Teams play on a smaller field. Soccer cleats are optional but shin guards are mandatory.

*There is no snack time scheduled into soccer hour.

Jerseys will be given to each child participating and must be returned at the end of the season.  Registration also includes team pictures (spring session only) and medals.

Session Format

Age 3-4

During the 45-minute session the kids will be split into groups and move through station-based activities for the first 30 minutes with their group. The remaining 15 minutes they will play an informal scrimmage against another group. Groups will vary from session to session based on the kids in attendance

Age 5-8

During the 60-minute session the kids will be split into groups and will move through station-based activities for the first 40 minutes with their group. The remaining 20 minutes they will play an informal scrimmage against another group. Groups will vary from session to session based on the kids in attendance

Coaching House League Soccer

We needs coaches for House League Soccer!

With the Manitoba Soccer Association changes of all House League Soccer programs having to be sanctioned all coaches will now need to complete the following to coach:

• A criminal record and Child abuse registry check
• Respect in Sport (if you coach another sport you would already have this – it is good for 5 years)
• Online Coaching courses:
  • Active Start
    For coaches of players ages 4-6
    60-90 minute online workshop (in-person portion recommended but not required)
    Good for life (does not need to be renewed)
    Fee $20 (Corydon will reimburse you for this course)
  • FUNdamentals
    For coaches of players ages 6-8
    60-90 minutes online workshop (in-person portion recommended but not required)
    Good for life (does not need to be renewed)
    Fee $20 (Corydon will reimburse you for this course)
